Many US kids get part-time jobs while they are in middle school or high school.  Students usually
work on weekends.  They also work in the aftemoons after school is over.  They take these jobs as a
way to make a little pocket money.
When I was in high school, many of my friends worked at McDonald's or KFC.  It is not difficult to
learn how to cook fast food.  You can even leam to use a cash register(牧银机).  However, these jobs
are not very fun.
Some kids are lucky to get jobs they like. A friend of mine loved animals and he got to work at an
animal shelter. My classmate Alice is good at singing and dancing. She works as a dancing teacher in an
art club.
American parents want their kids to have work experience. But in China middle school students hardly ever get part-time jobs. They think getting good grades is always more important.
