Are the Smiths coming to our party tomorrow night?
There are two Marys and three Roberts in his class.
Did the Mr. Blakes come this morning?
The wines of France are among the best in the world.
First of all,he wrote out a long list of all the foods which were forbidden。
sands(沙滩,沙漠),waters(水域),rains(大阵雨、雨季),winds(大风),times(时代), woods(森林),ruins(废墟),rags(碎片、破衣服),ashes(灰烬、骨灰)。例如:
The rising waters did a lot of harm to the crops.
These caves collapse easily in heavy rains.
The children are playing on the sands.
The waitress has served twenty teas since four o’clock.
Send two coffees and three lemonades to the room.
glasses(眼镜、玻璃杯), irons(熨斗),coppers(铜币),papers(文章,
例如:
She is always wearing glasses.
He wrote many papers for the newspaper.
1.congratulations, regards, respects,thanks,wishes,apologies
It’s your birthday today.Congratulations!
You’ve given me so much help.Thanks a lot.
2.smiles, pities, fears, hopes, kindnesses
He was all smiles.
It is a thousand pities.
I have received many kindnesses from him.
Great fears are felt for the safety of the missing climbers.
cares(烦人的事),anxieties(令人着急的事),worries(使人发愁的事),difficulties(难题),joys(使人高兴的事),failures(失败的事,失败的人),friendships(表示友谊的事例)等。例如:
After listening to his advice, she had no more anxieties.
His friendships never last very long.
After many failures,they finally succeeded.
youths(男青年、小伙子), relations(亲属), beauties(美人),necessities(必需品)等。例如:
Twenty youths attended the meeting yesterday.
All his poor relations came to spend their holidays at his home.
(对)That is my teacher.
(对)He is going to marry this girl.
(错)He is going to marry this.(this作宾语时不能指人)
(对)I bought this.
(对) He admired that which looked beautiful.
(对) He admired those who looked beautiful. (those指人)
(错) He admired that who danced well.(that作宾语时不能指人)
(对) He admired those who danced well. (those指人)
(对) He admired those which looked beautiful. (those指物)
Who’s that? That’s/It’s Liu Dehua.
What are those? They are basketballs.
Is this a ruler? Yes, it is.
Are those your friends? No, they aren’t.
She’s very friendly, and that is why we all love her.
You needn’t do this — It’s pretty easy.
6、向别人介绍某个人时,要说“ This is ….”,而不说“ That is ….”,也不能说“ He is ….”或“ She is ….”。
This is Li Ming. Li Ming, this is Wei Hua.
This is my brother and that is my sister.
7、one,that 和it的区别:
one表示泛指,that和it 表示特指。
I can't find my hat. I think I must buy one.(不定)
The hat you bought is bigger than that I bought.(同类但不同个)
I can't find my hat. I don' t know where I put it.( 同一物)

⑧other, the other, others, the others, another

We have much homework to do every day.
Most students think so.
(11)few, a few, little, a little
a few 和a little 意为“少数、少量”,其意义是肯定的。

He has a few friends here.
Hurry up! There is little time left.
The door was closed.
The door was closed by me.
My job is teaching English.
Mr Wang is reading an evening paper now.
a表示人体感官的系动词有sound,taste,look,feel,smell等,后面接形容词;
b表示主语从一种状态转变到另一种状态的系动词有become,get,go,turn,run,grow,come,fall,prove等,后面接形容词、名词或 to be+形容词,become后面接单数名词时,名词前要用不定冠词,turn后面接单数名词时,名词前不用不定冠词;
c表示主语继续或保持某种身份、特征或状态的系动词有continue,keep,remain,stay,stand lie,rest,stay等,后面接表示状态的形容词;
常见的有come true, fall asleep, fall ill, go bad, come right, run wild, wear thin, turn nasty等。
The newly-invented soft drinking tastes quite unique.
The chef is tasting the fish carefully.
He is being kind.(一时而不能持久的性质)他装出和蔼可亲的样子。
I hope you are keeping well.(语气委婉)我希望你保持健康。
Are you feeling any better?(语气亲切)你感觉好了些吗?
Your hand feels cold.(无意识的静态性质。)
Your hand is feeling cold.(×)
The doctor is feeling her pulse.(有意识的动态动作)医生正在给她拿脉。
The soup tastes good.(静态性质,无进行时)这汤的味道不错。
The cook is tasting the soup.(动态动作,有进行时)厨师在尝汤的味道。
The camels can smell the water a mile off.
The girl is smelling the flower.
The dinner smells good.
He is growing taller and taller.
Our life is getting better and better.
The things are getting worse.
The apple is tasted good.
The apple is tasted by me.
英语中某些表示瞬间意义的系动词不能与“for+时间段,since+时间点,how long until+时间,by + 时间,so far”等直接连用。例如:
He has become a teacher for 2 years.
He has been a teacher for 2 years.
He has turned writer since 3 years ago.
He has been a writer since 3 years ago.
或It is three years since he turned writer.
He got angry until his child came back home.
He didn’t get angry until his child came back home.
.prep.
①能接as if/as though表语从句的系动词有:look(看起来),smell(闻起来),sound(听起来),feel(觉得);appear(显得),seem(似乎)。例如:
It looks as if we are going to have snow.
He looked as if he had just stepped out of my book of fairy tales.
She seemed as if (though) she couldn’t understand why Laura was there.
It sounds to me as though there’s a tap running somewhere.
She felt as if her head were splitting.
The river appeared as if enveloped in smog.
It seems as if it were spring already.
②可用于“It+系动词+that从句”结构的有:seem, appear, 不可用be, look。如:
It seemed that he had made some serious mistakes in his work.
It appeared that he was talking to himself.
③能用不定式作表语的系动词有:be, seem, get, look, appear, prove, grow.
Her job is to look after the children.
He seems not to look after the children.
She looks to be a young girl of twenty year-old.
He didn’t appear to dislike it.
My advice proved to be wrong.
He will grow to like this work gradually.
④能与there连用的系动词有:be, appear, seem.
There appeared to be only one room.
There seems(to be)no need to go.
It doesn’t seem that we can get our money back.= It seems that we can’t get our money back.
He seems not to be her father.= He doesn’t seem to be her father.
The baby doesn’t appear to be awake.= The baby appears not to be awake.
Be + P.P常可以用get + P.P. Get + P.P.
Last night I got caught in the downpour.
The new car got scratched.
如get dressed, get lost等。
John got injured while playing football last Saturday.
They got married last month.
have的用法:
主要变化形式:have,has,had
He has left for London.
By the end of last month, they had finished half of their work.
I have been studying English for ten years.
English has been taught in China for many years.
do的用法:
形式
主要变化形式:do,did,done
Do you want to pass the CET?
Did you study German?
I do not want to be criticized.
He doesn't like to study.
In the past, many students did not know the importance of English.
Don't go there.
Don't be so absent-minded.
Do come to my birthday party please.
I did go there.
I do miss you.
Never did I hear of such a thing.
Only when we begin our college life do we realize the importance of English.
说明: 引导此类倒装句的副词有never, seldom, rarely, little, only, so, well等。
Do you like Beijing?
Yes,I do. (do用作代动词,代替like Beijing.)
He knows how to drive a car, doesn't he?
may和can:
否定形式:may not/mayn't,might not/mightn't
疑问式:may I?might I?等
否定疑问式:may I not?/mayn't I?
否定式:can not/can't,could not/could't
疑问式:can I?could I?等。
否定疑问式:can I not?/can't I?could I not?/couldn't I?
I shall study harder at English.
He will go to Shanghai.
He shall come.
He will come.
2)shall
shall I turn on the light?
shall he come to see you?
(比较: will he come to see you?
should,would的用法:
I telephoned him yesterday to ask what I should do next week.
"What shall I do next week?" I asked.
He said he would come.
"I will go," he said.
He said he would come.
原来的will变成would,go变成了come.。
There be句型:
There be 后面的名词是句子的主语,属倒装结构;
There isn’t a box in the room.
There aren’t any pens on the desk.
There hasn’t been any rain for a week.
There won’t be a meeting today.
There is no water in the bottle.
There are no pictures on the wall.
There will be no one at home tomorrow morning.
There might be no money left。
2.There be 句型的一般疑问句是将be 放在there 之前,回答时用yes或no,后接简单答语。如:
Is there a cake on the table?
Yes,there is. / No,there isn’t.
Will there be a party tonight?
Yes,there will./ No, there won’t
Have there been any letters from your mother lately?
Yes,there have./ No, there haven’t.
3.There be 句型的特殊疑问句主要有how many和how much做引导词两种情况:
How many students are there in your school?
How much money is there in your pocket?
There is a cup on the table, isn’t there?
There is some orange in the glass, isn’t there?
There are a lot of letters in the mailbox, aren’t there?
There will be a new hospital nearby, won’t there?
There are some trees in front of the house.
Tom has many friends in China.
There are many long rivers in China./China has many long rivers.
How many days are there in March?/How many days has March?
(如和将来时be going to will、现在完成时 havehas + pp. 、used to结构等连用,注意其构成形式)。
例如:
There must be a pen in the box.

Please be quiet, boys!
Come this way, please.
Do keep away from the fire!
2. 否定式在谓语动词前加Don’t或Do not,强调否定式则在动词前加Never。如:
Don’t alway make the same mistake.
Never be late again.
You come here!
You mind your head!
Don’t you come here!
Let me have a try if you don’t want to.
Let’s spend this weekend in the country.
Let him be here by ten o’clock.
Jane, sit down please.
Mum, remember to bring me an umbrella.
Let’s not wast our time about it.
Don’t let us wait here.
Don’t let him go out.
Just a minute, please!
This way, please!
Attention! 立正!
Up the stairs!
To the playground, everyone of you!
No smoking!
No parking!
No photos!
May you succeed!
Long live our friendship!
祈使句无主语, 主语you常省去;
动词原形谓语当, 句首加don't否定变;
You wait here for a moment.
语调和重音很重要。在上面这一句里,如果不重读you,那么句子的意思是this is where you wait (这就是你应等着的地方);
如果重读you,那么句子的意思就是this is what I want you to do (这是我要你做的事)。
You mind your own business!
You try teaching 40 noisy children five days a week!
Don’t you speak to me like that!
■“you+人名”或“人名+you”
You wait here, Jim, and Mary, you wait there.
Drink up your milk, Sally!
Sally, drink up your milk!
Enjoy yourself.
Behave yourself.
Everyone keep quiet!
Keep still everybody!
Nobody say a word!
Somebody answer the phone please.
Don’t say a word anybody!
Don’t anybody say a word!
