例:China(中国)、Asia(亚洲) Beijing(北京)、the People’s Republic of China(中华人民共和国)。
如:the Great Wall(长城)。
如:the Greens( 格林一家人)。
(Uncountable Nouns)
1、不可数名词是指不能以数目来计算,不可以分成个体的概念、状态、品质、感情或表示物质材料的东西;
work(工作) ——a work (著作);
glass(玻璃)——a glass (玻璃杯);
aper(纸) ——a paper(报纸;文件;试卷)
tea(茶) ——a tea (一种茶)(表示种类);
wood(木头) ——a wood (小树林);
room(空间) ——a room (房间)
1.work/job
I’m busy today, for I have a lot of work to do.
2. wish / hope
I wish you to be happy.
② hope和wish都可以跟从句。hope之后的从句的谓语动词用一般将来时或一般现在时,所表达的愿望可以实现;
I hope you like the flowers.
I wish I were a bird.
③hope和wish都可以跟动词不定式(hope/wish to do sth.)。wish比较正式,口气比较强烈;
I hope (wish) to go to college.
I wish you success.
3.silly/stupid/foolish
stupid所表达的程度最强,指智力、理解力和学习能力差;
silly指头脑简单、傻头傻脑,使人觉得可笑,带有一定的感情色彩;
He is stupid in learning math.
Stop asking such silly questions.
You are foolish to throw away such a good chance.
4.instead/instead of
instead/instead of
Jack didn’t study law. Instead, he decided to become an actor.
If you can’t go to the meeting, I can go instead.

②afraid只能做表语,多用于习惯经常地“惧怕”某事物, 泛指一种“恐惧心理”;
6.learn/study
learn/study
When did you begin to study/learn English?
He studied hard and at last learned the language.
study用于较高深或周密的研究;

7.there be/have/own

The old man smiled before he replied to my question.

He went to Beijing the other day.(带具体时间)
a would ,used to与过去时
They used to meet and would sometimes exchange one or two words.
He smoked a lot two years ago.
When he was a boy , he would often go there .
She isn't what she used to be.
c 表示状态时一般只用used to
Tom used to be fat /There used to stand a tree there.
dwas (were) used to +ving表示“合适于,适应于…..”
He used to work at night .
He was used to working at night.
He sat there and listened to the radio.(依此发生)
How did you like the film? / Could you help me?
What were you doing at 8:30 last night?
During that time he was going with us.(表示打算)
3.lways ,often ,usually
He was always Changing his mind.
I was reading the book at that time.
I read the book yesterday.
It was raining all night.(优先用was raining ,rained 为持续动词,故也可使用)
He was writing a letter the whole of afternoon.
He broke a chair while he was jumping up and down.
I was cooking the dinner while he was playing the piano.(平行)
I cooked the dinner while he played the piano.
I saw him while I was walking to the station.
He fell asleep when he was reading.
I was wondering if you could give me a lift.
They were always quarrelling.
比较:He was friendly.
He was being friendly.
We listened carefully when the teacher read the text.
He told me that he was going soon.

I was walking in the street when someone called me.

The girl was always changing her mind.
I/We shall/will go. You/He/She/They will go.
I/We shall/will not go. You/He/She/They will not go.
Shall I/we go? Will you/he/she/they go?
(肯)Yes,主语shall/will (否) No,主语 shall/will not
Why will you be here on Sunday?(周日你为什么将要在这儿?)
I will have a meeting on Sunday(我将要在周日举行一个聚会)
be或will提到句首,some改any,and改or,第一二人称互换
We are going to go on an outing this weekend.
Are you going to go on an outing this weekend?
will/shall+be+v.ed(及物动词过去分词)
The letter will be sent tomorrow.
We shall be punished if we break the rule.
be going to与will的区别:
He is going to write a letter tonight.
He will write a book one day.
He is seriously ill. He is going to die.
He will be twenty years old.
3. be going to 含有“计划,准备”的意思,而 will 则没有这个意思,如:
She is going to lend us her book.
He will be here in half an hour.
4.在有条件从句的主句中,一般不用 be going to, 而多用will, 如:
If any beasts comes at you, I'll stay with you and help you
shall和will区别:
其否定式 shall not 和will not 的缩写式分别为 shan't 和 won't。
I will be clear tomorrow .
I shall come back in ten minutes .
I will come back in ten minutes.
如:he shall be rewarded.
I will(shall) arrive tomorrow.
Will you be free tonight?
We won’t (shan’t) be busy this evening.
例如:Will she come?
a. Where shall we meet?
b. Shall we have any classes tomorrow?
How will I get there?
(4)be going to+ 动词原形
We are going to put up a building here.
How are you going to spend your holidays?
I think it is going to snow.
①It is going to rain.
②We are going to have a meeting today.
二.go, come,start,move,sail,leave,arrive,stay,live,fly,等可用进行时态表示按计划即将发生的动作(行进式动词)。
例如:I'm leaving for Beijing.
①Are we to go on with this work?
②The boy is to go to school tomorrow.
We are about to leave.
某些词,如come, go, leave, arrive, start, get, stay ,live, fly等的一般现在时也可表示将来。
①The meeting starts at five o'clock.
②He gets off at the next stop.
“be due to"构成的谓语,意味“定于…”
