All right! Enough cookies, cola, and chips! It seems that
junk food (垃圾食物) is all that the children want to eat these
days. Television controls their tastes. The kids see well-known per-
sonalities eating potato chips, candy and other processed (处理过
的 ) food,  and they want to be like their heroes. How do they do it?
They eat the same food. I wish there were more characters like old
Popeye, the sailor, who ate spinach (菠菜) and not French fries.
Now I expect my children to eat healthy food because I like
brown rice, beans, and fresh vegetables. I'm glad to cook traditional
meals of meat and potatoes for them. I really can't be too upset with
the kids because most adults aren't careful about what they eat.
The other night, my wife and I went to a party where there
was plenty to drink but very little for us to eat. They served hot
dogs and hamburgers. I can't eat hot dogs, with all those
preservatives (防腐剂) ,and hamburgers are filled with chemicals
so that they look better. Besides the meat, they had sugar-filled
cookies and cake, and of course, chips.
I don't want the world to change because of me, but I think
people should realize that there are choices to eating meat. They
always tell me that I probably don't get my essential (必要的)
proteins (蛋白质). I feel better than ever and I'm sure that it's
because I'm a vegetarian (素食者) .I would really like to see more
television advertisements which show the benefits of good, healthy,
    natural food.

    A. required rich food
    B. gave an example of having junk food frequently
    C. complained about the food the party had served
    D. doubted if both the adults and the children were healthy
    3. Hamburgers look better _____ .
    A. but taste bad
    B. because they are treated with chemicals
    C. so the author prefers them to hot dogs
    D. and the author expects the children to eat them
    4. Which of the following is NOT true?
    A. Television influences children's food choice.
    B. The author is not single and definitely he eats meat.
    C. Though the author is a vegetarian,he feels very healthy.
    D. It is certain that brown rice, beans, and spinach are not junkfood.
    5. The author is a vegetarian, so people doubt  ______ very much  .
    A. why he goes to the party
    B. whether he gets enough protein
    C. whether he is healthy and strong
    D. whether he allows his children to eat meat

  • 健康环保类阅读

健康环保累阅读概念:

健康环保类文章常是介绍科学知识、生活常识和环境保护方面的短文。体裁有记叙文、 说明文、议论文和各种应用文。

健康环保类文章阅读技巧:

       健康环保类文章常是介绍科学知识、生活常识和环境保护方面的短文。阅读此类短文要以现象或事物为中心进行思考,理解现象产生的原因、条件和客观规律等。同时要抓住事物的特征、用途和相互关系等。科普环保类文章一般为说明文,从结构上看大致可分为三个部分:
       第一部分一般是文章的首段,主要用来提出文章的主题,即文章想要阐述、说明的主要内容;
       第二部分是文章的主体,可由若干个段落组成,对文章的主题进行展开说明;
       第三部分是结尾段,对文章的主题进行归纳总结。这类文章多用一般现在时,而且一般多使用客观性词语表述。有时为了强调客观性,也常使用被动语态。
       从近几年的考试题来看,科普环保类的文章越来越与人们的实际生活相接近。由于此类文章缺乏故事情节,很多同学对此类文章感到费解。但一般的科普类文章都是就事论事,需要逻辑推理和想象的时候较少,因此此类阅读题也没有同学们想象中的那么难,只要多加训练,就能较好地答题。
